TDA's L. H. "Cotton" Ivy Laboratory was created by the consolidation of several small laboratory facilities into one state of the art facility. The purpose of the Ivy Laboratory is to safeguard the health and safety of Tennesseans and to aid in enforcement of labeling requirements designed to protect the consumer.

The Chemical Services branch includes specialty program areas in Toxicology, Food Residue, Feed & Fertilizer, Seed Lab, Environmental Monitoring, Food Microbiology and Chemical Support.
