Ms. Barbara McIntyre

Ms. McIntyre is recently retired after serving three terms as Mayor of the City of Columbia, Tennessee. Ms. McIntyre has vast experience in business management, public relations, and community service. She is formerly retired from Holiday Inns of America where she was employed as general manager for a number of Holiday Inns. Ms. McIntyre previously served Maury County on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In 2005, she served as President of the Tennessee Municipal League. Ms. McIntyre is currently on the Board of Directors for the Columbia Kiwanis Club, the Duck River Agency, and the Maury County Senior Citizens Board. She was the founding member of the Leadership Maury Board of Trustees and is a past board member for Hope House (Maury County Center Against Domestic Violence), Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Maury County, Tourism Board, Keep Maury Beautiful, and the Boys & Girls Club of Maury County. Her knowledge of the aging network not only comes from being mayor and serving on the board of the South Central Tennessee Development District, but also from being a long-time active board member and volunteer for the Maury County Senior Citizens.
Ms. McIntyre is the recipient of the Liberty Bell Award given by the Maury County Bar Association, the Lucille Queener Courtney Community Service Award, and has been honored as Woman of the Year by the Business and Professional Women’s Club. She has been recognized with the prestigious Governor’s Award for Community Service and with the Eagle Wings Award for Government. She is the mother of one son and one daughter. She has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She resides in Columbia, Tennessee.
