Mr. Ferguson is an attorney-at-law whose practice includes the fields of Family Law, Business Law, Will and Estates, and guardianship and conservatorship. He is knowledgeable in the fields of Elder Law and General Family Law, including Wills and Estates. He is a graduate of Milligan College with Majors in English and Sociology and a graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of Law, with a degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and Kingsport Bar Association and serves on several committees and commissions within these Associations. Mr. Ferguson assisted in setting up the Public Guardian Program office at the First Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability and served as the Program’s counsel. He has served as a member, as well as chairman, of the State Senior Games Board and has served on various committees for the betterment of the First Tennessee region. He has been a weekly columnist on business and law for the “Kingsport Times News” for the past 18 years, and is the originator of the “Times News” Start Up Business Contest and the Tennessee Council Tech-Star Award.Mr. Ferguson is significantly involved in his community having served on numerous boards of nonprofit organizations and in his church as an Elder, Chairman of the Church Board, and Sunday School teacher. He has been married to his high school sweetheart since 1965, and they have four adult children and nine grandchildren.
