Athletic Commission

“Chapter 115  Tennessee Athletic Commission Act of 2016” establishes the Tennessee Athletic Commission as attached to the division of Regulatory Boards within the Department of Commerce and Insurance.

The Tennessee Athletic Commission will be composed of five (5) members appointed by the Governor, the Speaker of the Senate and the Speaker of the House.

Policy Change, Effective April 1, 2018:

Per Rule 0145-01-.04 (3), all licensing is to be complete (7) business days prior to the event. Effective April 1, 2018, Inspectors cannot accept cash payments for licensing under any circumstance.

GATE FEES (TCA § 68-115-208):

There are two type of gate fee forms that are required to submitted after your event. The gate fee form will need to be filled out first and given to the Lead Inspector at the event. The (4%) of the total gross receipts from admission fees or $500 payment will need to be on a cashier’s check or money order (no cash can or will be accepted at the event). The second form is the gross receipt form that will need to be filled out in its entirety post the event. If more gate fees are due, the payment will need to be mailed to the TN Athletic Commission along with the form. If no additional fees are due on the gross receipt form, you can either mail it to the office or email it to me to be attached to your file.

Blood test update, effective immediately:

A professional combatant shall be subject to additional blood testing for infectious diseases if more than ninety (90) days have elapsed since the combatant's license was issued. All expenses incurred pursuant to this section shall be paid by the promoter.
