The TFACA works continually to provide the high quality instruction you are accustomed to receiving. We work to deliver as many classes as possible, both through our field delivery program and on campus. Tightening budgets call for us to look at options in scheduling, locations and frequency of classes delivered.
“Introduction to Fire and Emergency Services Train-the-Trainer” classes are being well attended. This course is designed as a hand-off to each department’s training officer. Additionally, it will allow upon successful completion, the instructor to offer classes which comply with the 16 hour training requirement passed into law this year (TCA-4-24-112). The class will be offered in conjunction with the fall quarterly TN Fire Chief's meeting in Kingsport Oct. 14, 2009. If you would like to schedule this class for your area, please contact us.
"Introduction to Fire Department Pumpers Train-the-Trainer" completed first presentation during the TN Fire Chiefs conference July 12, 2009. Thank you TN Fire Chiefs for the continued support for TFACA!
"Fire Officer III" pilot is complete. Feedback from the pilot presentation will be given to the design team for review. Adjustments required to the class have been submitted to TN Commission on Firefighting for approval. Class scheduling will begin following approval by the Commission. Thanks to our design team for their work to date! We look forward to our first delivery and creating additional training for officers and department management.
TFACA instructors along with a select number of qualified instructors recently completed T-t-T for Rope Rescue. Look for new classes in Technical Rescue to begin Fall 2009. Thank you to all who attended for their input and willingness to help TFACA expand the curriculum to meet customer request.
I appreciate the support given to our staff and the academy. The staff works to improve the training received through TFACA, and I am confident they will continue to enhance the program.
Thanks!
