| Course Description |
This course covers three basic courses; Hazardous Materials Awareness, Basic Fire
Extinguisher Training, and use of the Materials Safety Data Sheets for any new or
existing employee. Hazardous Material Awareness level is an 8 hour course that covers
the basic information on placards, NFPA 704 marking systems, as well as the use of the
Emergency Response Guide Book. The 4-hour Material Safety Date Sheet (MSDS) is the
first line of information to understand the hazards of any materials that are stored. The
4-hour Basic Fire Extinguisher training trains the employee in the different types of fires
and the association of the type of extinguisher that is used for the type of fire. The student
will be able to use a cartridge type extinguisher on a controlled propane fire. The student
will also use a carbon dioxide (CO 2) extinguisher on a simulated controlled electrical
fire. |
