This course involves an introduction into local jurisdictions ability to regulate land use through zoning and shows the connection between the passings of land use regulations abilities from the Federal government to the state to local government. Instruction includes the restrictions placed on local governments to regulate communication equipment, group homes and manufactured homes (double wide mobile homes) by the state. Topics include information on how state laws protect non-conforming uses, sovereign immunity and how it applies to the different branches of government and when it must be recognized.
