Luper Mountain WMA

Site Directions:

  • Lonestar – From I40, take exit 338 and turn south on Westel Rd. In 0.5 miles, turn right onto Pig Path Rd. Drive 1.6 miles, then turn right onto Millstone Mtn Rd. Drive 1.5 miles, then turn left to stay on Millstone Mtn Rd. Continue on Millstone Mtn Rd for 3.5 miles and you will reach the Lonestar tract of Luper Mtn
  • Lonestar Unit – From I40, take exit 338 and turn south on Westel Rd. In 0.5 miles, turn right onto Pig Path Rd. Drive 1.6 miles, then turn right onto Millstone Mtn Rd. Drive 1.5 miles, then turn left to stay on Millstone Mtn Rd. Continue on Millstone Mtn Rd for 2.75 miles and turn right. Follow the signs to get to Luper Mtn. This road is an access easement only and ATV/SXS use is strongly recommended.

Special Use - Hooved animal riding, bicycling, and Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) is a use permitted only by individuals possessing a valid hunting and fishing license and WMA permit or a High Impact Habitat Conservation Permit.

Big game and small game are the same as statewide seasons except as noted.

Dogs are not permitted during the spring squirrel season.

Quail - Nov. 4, 2023 - Jan. 15, 2024.

Deer - Same as statewide deer season. Closed to antlerless deer hunting during the deer gun season.

Dog training - Sept. 1, 2023 - March 15, 2024.

Lonestar Mountain Unit

Closed to all non-hunting activities during big game hunts.

Site Description: Luper Mtn Wildlife Management Area is a 5,600-acre property located in Cumberland County, Tennessee. Much of the WMA property is comprised of steep slopes with both young and mature hardwood forest growth.

Access to the WMA is very limited and is only possible with ATV or SXS.
