Site Description: The area consists of 7,419 acres of early and late successional bottomland forest areas with some swamps and open bodies of water. Road access into the interior of the area is limited but foot trails and water bodies can be used to explore the interior.

Wildlife to Watch: The forest and swamps of the area provide some excellent habitats for woodland birds. Prothonotary Warblers are common breeding birds in summer.  A wide variety of waterfowl species can be present during the winter months

Site History: The North Fork Forked Deer River was channelized in the past and the main river flow no longer follows its original channel. Due to channelization, Tigrett WMA represents the effect channelization has on natural bottomland hardwoods and similar ecosystems across West Tennessee.
