The Charles Bass Correctional Complex (CBCX) is a multi-missioned, time-building facility for male felons committed to the Department of Correction.

CBCX houses approximately 750 inmates in 16 housing units. The institution houses the department's sex offender program, a therapeutic community program and various community service work crews.

The inmates at the facility provide more than 160,000 hours of community service work each year to state and local government and non-profit agencies in the Nashville area.

Inmates nearing release dates are provided intense pre-release education classes (Release for Success) and inmates without diplomas are enrolled in GED preparation classes. Inmates are also enrolled in college classes in conjunction with Nashville State Community College.
