Most TDOC inmates are allowed to visit with friends and family, provided they fill out the appropriate paperwork and follow the departmental policies and procedures.

To familiarize yourself with the rules, please refer to the visitation policy. A visitation form will need to be filled out in its entirety in order to be placed on an inmate's list. Applications are processed on a regular basis at each facility, but at least quarterly.
Below you will find a contact phone number and time, a visitation schedule and a link to the complete visitation manual for each institution. Please note, these are subject to change. Some prisons with rotating schedules will not have a schedule posted. You may need to contact the institution for more specific information.
Visitation is considered a privilege, not a right.

Processing of visitors at checkpoint will be cut off one-half hour prior to the end of each day's visitation schedule.
Special visits at the institution may be arranged through request to the administrative captain at the main compound, or the administrative lieutenant at Site II, by either the inmate or the proposed visitor. The following types of special visits may be approved:
- Visitors who have traveled in excess of 200 miles and/or do not visit on a regular basis.
- Children, as part of a special program to promote family bonding.
- Prospective employers, sponsors, parole advisors or private therapists (recognized mental health professionals).
- Persons significant to the inmate for purpose of crisis intervention.
- Official visitors.
Attorney visits must be scheduled through the deputy warden's office. Visits shall be arranged between 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (Tuesday and Thursday's are parole harings and there might be some fluctuation in the morning schedule during these days). Attorney visits should be requested at least 24 hours in advance.
