ESCAPED INMATE DAVID PRESLEY BACK IN CUSTODY

NASHVILLE, Tenn, - A minimum trustee
TDOC inmate that stole a state vehicle and drove away from a work release site three months ago is back in custody.

David Presley turned himself into Tennessee Department of Correction Internal Affairs special agents Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:30 p.m. CDT.  He was picked up at an undisclosed location in Sumner County and immediately returned to Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville.

Presley, a minimum trustee, stole a van and escaped from his work release assignment at TEMA on the morning of Friday, July 8, 2005.  The vehicle was found abandoned in Macon County the day after his escape but Presley continued to elude local and state authorities.

Presley was serving a thirty-six year sentence out of Trousdale County for aggravated robbery and second degree murder.

Agents do not believe Presley committed any crimes during his escape.  He will soon face felony escape charges.
