INMATE WALKS AWAY FROM WORK RELEASE JOB SITE

Nashville, Tenn. - Officials with the Tennessee Department of Correction are looking for an inmate who walked away from a work release site this morning.  Lawrence Dewaine Schumaker is a minimum trustee, currently assigned to the Tennessee Bridges program with the Charles B. Bass Correctional Complex in Nashville as a pre-parole condition.

He has been assigned to a Tennessee Homebuilders Institute program since February 18, 2005, and was noticed missing this morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. CST.

Schumaker was serving a nine-year sentence for aggravated burglary and drug charges.  He was eligible for release to parole on August 30, 2005, upon completion of the Tennessee Bridges pre-release program.

Schumaker is a 23-year-old white male with brown eyes, brown hair and a medium complexion.  He is 5'9" tall and weights approximately 172 lbs.  He has a tattoo across the center of his upper back that reads "No-Limit."
