TDOC LENDS A HAND TO TORNADO VICTIMS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Several Tennessee counties
devastated by the
April 7, 2006 tornados are receiving help from the
Tennessee Department of Correction.
Beginning today, April 11-April 13, 2006, TDOC will
provide assistance to tornado victims in Sumner and Warren counties.
A total of 100 inmates, along with TDOC officers, have
been dispatched to locations in Gallatin, TN, in Sumner County and
McMinnville, TN, in Warren County.
The crew will help remove debris left by the storm and
participate, as needed, in the overall cleanup.
Commissioner George M. Little says, "The department
is very thankful to be able to offer assistance to our fellow citizens
in this time of distress. We will do what we can to volunteer and
help out."

Turney Center Industrial Prison
Charles B. Bass Correctional Complex
Tennessee Prison for Women
Southeastern Tennessee State Regional Correctional Facility
