EXECUTION PROTOCOL PUBLIC INPUT HEARING

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Department of Correction will conduct a hearing on April 5, 2007 to receive input on development of a new execution protocol.  This review is being undertaken in pursuant to Governor Phil Bredesen's Executive Order issued on February 1, 2007.

One component of the protocol development is input from relevant and appropriate sources with a particular emphasis on lethal injection procedures.  The hearing will be limited in scope to topics dealing with drug formula and preparation, medical monitoring, selection and training of staff and testing of the execution apparatus.

The public is invited to attend.  Interested speakers should contact the Department of Correction prior to the hearing.
