ESCAPEE CAPTURED
JACKSON, Tenn. - A man wanted by the
Department of Correction is now in custody. An arrest warrant had
been issued for Tracy Bernard Mann. Mann is a TDOC inmate who was
serving time for theft of property. He was sent to Texas on a
detainer and was inadvertently released by that state.
Mann was notified that he needed to turn himself in, but
he refused. TDOC Internal Affairs investigators, with assistance
from the Jackson police department and the public, tracked Mann to an
area near Jackson and made the arrest.
Jackson police also charged Mann with possession of
marijuana with intent to distribute. He is being held in the
Madison County Jail pending transfer to West Tennessee State
Penitentiary.
