Spring
of 2009 |
- The state will transfer the $13 million dollar operating budget
from Brushy to the new prison, creating a considerable
saving. This is in addition to the savings we already reap
by co-locating two facilities and sharing various costs.
- The state will save $17 dollars/inmate per day on the inmates
who are transferred from Brushy to the new prison. This
translates to a saving of roughly $10,030/day or $3.6 million
dollars/year.
- Employee turnover rate for Morgan County is 8.8%... one of the
lowest in the state next to Bledsoe and Wayne Counties which
employs less than half the staff.
