Community Work Program


The Tennessee Department of Correction expects all inmates to work or attend school.  The community work program is just one way offenders are giving back to the community in a meaningful way.

For calendar year 2008,  the community crews worked 1,013,624 hours.  These crews worked for other state agencies, local government and non-profit organizations.

From January, 1996 through December, 2008 community crews have performed 16,626,046 hours of community work.

The state agencies that received some type of assistance from the crews during 2007 are the following:
