In-Home Day Service: Provider Agreements
The Department would like to announce that a process to address the addition of the newly approved In-Home Day Services to existing Provider Agreements has been finalized. Effective immediately, agencies that are currently approved to provide Community Based Day Services will automatically have In-Home Day Services added to your existing Provider Agreement(s). The Provider Agreements, with the addition of the In-Home Day Services, will be distributed beginning immediately via email and will go to the executive contact currently on file for each agency. Because the Department has secured approval for electronic signature, agency owners or designees will simply need to sign, scan and return the agreement(s) to the Department by email. Amended Provider Agreements reflecting only the amendment to add In-Home Day Services will be distributed by Julia Jinnette (Julia.Jinnette@tn.gov) and should be returned to this sender once signed. While the electronic copy attached to the email will suffice to formally initiate this process, the original copy of your agreement must still be mailed to the Department thereafter.
As was originally indicated during Roll-Out meetings held in June of this year, providers who have successfully executed their Provider Agreement updates will have the ability to begin submitting service plans effective upon the receipt of the electronically signed, amended Provider Agreement by DIDD. Service provision of In-Home Day Services can begin as of August 1, 2013.
It is important to note that addition of the Semi-Independent Supported Living Service will require submission of an expansion request consistent with traditional means of service addition. The addition of Intensive Behavior Residential Service will also require completion of a specialized application which can be obtained from Linda Maurice (Linda.Maurice@tn.gov) at the Central Office.
Also, it is important for you to know that in the near future, providers will be receiving an updated provider agreement consisting of content changes only. You will be given more detailed information about those changes prior to distribution.

DIDD Announces New State Director of Protection From Harm (PFH)
Dr. Rebekah Wood has resigned as DIDD’s State Director of Protection From Harm. She is relocating to California to join her husband who is on active duty in the U. S. Army and currently stationed in Los Angeles. We are grateful for her service and wish her the best in her new marriage and future endeavors.
I am pleased to announce as Dr. Wood’s replacement, Fredrick Zimmermann, who will assume his duties as Director effective July 25. Mr. Zimmermann has spent the last six and a half years as an Assistant General Counsel for DIDD. Among other legal duties, he has worked closely with the PFH unit and has represented the Department in over 150 contested administrative hearings of appeals from persons designated for placement on the State’s Abuse Registry. Before joining the Department, Mr. Zimmermann spent many years in the private practice of law. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee. We are confident that this appointment will further strengthen the Department’s commitment to the protection of persons supported by DIDD and its provider network.
