The 56th Annual Governor’s Conference on Economic and Community Development will energize attendees with innovative and timely strategies for growth, from capitalizing on unique development opportunities to preparing for sustainable improvement. This year’s conference will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and takes the theme, “Powering New Growth,” a multi-pronged message focused on laying the groundwork for long-lasting progress, seeking out unique opportunities for development and embracing the tide of clean-energy job creation.
Governor Phil Bredesen will share his insights regarding the opportunities presented to Tennessee by the changing economy at the Governor’s Luncheon on Tuesday, September 15. More information regarding the keynote speaker for the Commissioner’s Luncheon on Monday, September 14 will be available soon. Session topics will cover a variety of subjects including state incentives, work force education and training, grants, foreign direct investment and trade, bio-fuels and other clean energy sources, water management, housing, technology, marketing and more. Highly-respected site selection consultants will share their knowledge with attendees and you’ll hear from experts who are on the leading edge of emerging industries, all with the goal of creating an effective, attainable plan for job growth.
