Local Government Planning Advisory Committee
The Local Government Planning Advisory Committee consists of seven local government officials appointed by the Governor. The Committee is responsible for making recommendations to the Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development on the operations of the Local Planning Assistance Office. It has authority over the creation and amendment to regional planning commission jurisdiction and specified appointments to certain regional planning commissions. County growth plans, as required in Chapter 58 of Title 6, must receive final approval from the Committee before they become effective. The Committee is scheduled to meet quarterly on the fourth Wednesday of January, April, July and October.
