The Technology Development Division is responsible for developing and advancing policies and initiatives that will support economic expansion through the development and adoption of technology in Tennessee. Technological innovation, research and development, and technology business growth are critical components for Tennessee to compete in a global, technology driven economy. The Technology Development Division was established by Commissioner Kisber to leverage existing technology resources to create higher paying, better skilled jobs throughout the state. In addition, new strategies are being developed to support entrepreneurial activity in the technology sector and foster collaboration between organizations.
The Technology Development team works closely with all other divisions of ECD, as technology is a common thread that runs through organizations and industries and holds the potential to substantially increase worker productivity and business competitiveness.
