TNTrade is a statewide initiative intended to help achieve Governor Haslam's goal of making Tennessee number #1 in the Southeast for high quality jobs by boosting exports by small and medium-sized businesses. Exporting companies grow faster and hire more workers than non-exporting companies, but less than 2% of Tennessee businesses are exporters. Tennessee's exports totaled roughly $30 billion in 2011 and approximately 20% of the state's manufacturing jobs depend on exports. TNECD provides the following services: competitive analysis/pricing evaluation, market sizing, target/distribution channel identification, product assessment, market entry recommendations, business partner contacts, sales assistance, and trade event/travel assistance.

Our TNECD team will be with you the entire way through the exporting process and will be able to connect you with valuable state, local and federal resources.
Please note: The state requires that companies fill out minimal paperwork for tracking purposes and that they report their export results quarterly. You agree to do so when completing the work order for TNECD services.
We can teach you how to export through TN Trade Academy. TN Trade Academy is a series of modules presented by various industry experts to give you the dos and don’ts of exporting. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics from assessing export readiness to adapting your product or service to the foreign market. TN Trade Academy sessions are offered throughout the year and throughout the state. For more information on upcoming sessions, contact TNTrade Director Hayley Hovious or check our events page.
