The Distinguished School program is a joint endeavor of the U.S. Department of Education and the National Association of State Title I Directors. The individual states submit schools to be recognized as National Title I Distinguished Schools to the National Association of State Title I Directors. In addition, states also recognize state Distinguished Title I Schools.
