Larry Bell, known to energize, encourage, entertain, and inspire his audiences, will show how every administrator can help every teacher or staff member help every child be successful. Mr. Bell provides strategies that help administrators transcend so called "barriers" such as economics, culture, and the lack of parental involvement.  These  strategies  can motivate your most unmotivated students.   Mr. Bell's presentations reflect his belief in the incredible power of high expectations.

Mr. Bell , author of the book, "12 Powerful Words That Increase Test Scores and Help Close the Achievement Gap," has been the keynote speaker at many conferences across the country including the National ASCD Conference and the National Association of Multicultural Education Conference.

Dr. Tim Waters
~ Balanced Leadership: School Leadership That Works

McREL’s studies of school-level leadership have produced empirical support for the claim that leaders have a statistically significant effect on student achievement.  Whether or not the effect is positive depends on the focus of their leadership initiatives, their ability to estimate and lead second-order change, and their use of research-based practices to fulfill essential responsibilities.

We can now reasonably assert the strength of the relationship between leadership and student achievement.  We can also provide straightforward and compelling guidance on leadership and change management to superintendents, principals, and others responsible for improving school performance. As a result of our analytical and field-based research, McREL can provide answers to questions about school leadership that works.

Dr. Waters is the President and Chief Executive Officer of McREL (Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning). He joined McREL in 1993 as the Deputy Director following 23 years of service in public schools. He has written numerous articles on the topic of education leadership and co-authored School Leadership That Works, published by ASCD in 2005.
