Each LEA is required by the US Department of Education to staff for ESL students to teachers at a ratio of 50:1.  When the electronic application files are submitted and reviewed by the Title III office, if the LEA has not met this ratio, the field will be turned red and the Title III Director for that LEA will need to work with Jan Lanier to get the staffing ratio into compliance.  Please contact your NCLB consultant orJan Lanier at jan.lanier@state.tn.us if you have questions.
