Student Management System (SSMS)
Implementation Status Update as of 1/10/05
Phase I : Thirty-four
school districts and one State Special School are in various
stages of live implementation of SSMS (StarStudent and EasyIEP)
in the 2004-05 school year.
- The conversion of Academic History data (final data
set to be converted) has been completed in all but five
districts.
- Districts are in the process of data verification and
clean-up to facilitate accurate state reporting for both
StarStudent and EasyIEP.
- These districts will begin pre-scheduling training in
January 2005 in preparation for scheduling students into
SSMS for the 2005-06 school year.
Phase II : Thirty-nine
school districts and two State Special Schools have received Welcome
Packets that outline the training plan and data conversion
process for StarStudent.
- Introductory DBA (Database Administrator) WebEx training
will begin on January 18, 2005 in preparation for subsequent
more detailed regional training for DBA’s and other
district staff.
- These districts will begin pre-scheduling training in
January 2005 in preparation for scheduling students into
SSMS for the 2005-06 school year.
- Regional training sessions for EasyIEP “experts” are
scheduled for January 10-14, 2005.
- Additional StarStudent and EasyIEP training will occur
later in the school year and into the summer.
Rollout for EasyIEP Reporting Module : Effective
June 30, 2005, the current special education reporting application,
SESIMS, will be replaced by the EasyIEP reporting module
statewide. The training plan for the remaining SSMS districts
(Phases III & IV) and all non-SSMS districts for transition
to the EasyIEP reporting module is currently being finalized.
Training for these districts will occur prior to the start
of the 2005-06 school year.
