Implementation Status Update as of 1/10/05

Phase I : Thirty-four school districts and one State Special School are in various stages of live implementation of SSMS (StarStudent and EasyIEP) in the 2004-05 school year.

  • The conversion of Academic History data (final data set to be converted) has been completed in all but five districts.
  • Districts are in the process of data verification and clean-up to facilitate accurate state reporting for both StarStudent and EasyIEP.
  • These districts will begin pre-scheduling training in January 2005 in preparation for scheduling students into SSMS for the 2005-06 school year.

Phase II : Thirty-nine school districts and two State Special Schools have received Welcome Packets that outline the training plan and data conversion process for StarStudent.

  • Introductory DBA (Database Administrator) WebEx training will begin on January 18, 2005 in preparation for subsequent more detailed regional training for DBA’s and other district staff.
  • These districts will begin pre-scheduling training in January 2005 in preparation for scheduling students into SSMS for the 2005-06 school year.
  • Regional training sessions for EasyIEP “experts” are scheduled for January 10-14, 2005.
  • Additional StarStudent and EasyIEP training will occur later in the school year and into the summer.

Rollout for EasyIEP Reporting Module : Effective June 30, 2005, the current special education reporting application, SESIMS, will be replaced by the EasyIEP reporting module statewide. The training plan for the remaining SSMS districts (Phases III & IV) and all non-SSMS districts for transition to the EasyIEP reporting module is currently being finalized. Training for these districts will occur prior to the start of the 2005-06 school year.
