 Air Pollution Control Board

Board Characteristics: Fourteen members: twelve appointed by the Governor for four-year terms and two ex officio. Members include:

• Commissioners of Environment and Conservation and Economic and Community Development or their designees;
• a registered professional engineer with at least five years' experience in air pollution control;
• a licensed physician with experience in health effects of air contaminants;
• a person engaged in a field directly related to agriculture or conservation;
• a person actively engaged in the management of a private manufacturing concern appointed from a list submitted by the Tennessee Association of Business;
• a county mayor or chief executive officer of a Tennessee county appointed from a list submitted by the Tennessee County Services Association;
• a person engaged in municipal government appointed from a list submitted by the Tennessee Municipal League;
• two persons from Tennessee industry having technical training and experience in air pollution abatement appointed from a list submitted by the Tennessee Association of Business;
• a person involved in the program of an institute of higher learning involved in air pollution evaluation and control training;
• a person appointed from a list of nominees submitted by the Tennessee Conservation League;
• a small generator of air pollution appointed from a list of nominees submitted by the Tennessee Automotive Association;
• a person appointed from a list of nominees submitted by the Tennessee Environmental Council.
