Environmental Events
One of the best ways to learn about environmental issues is to participate in a special event. TDEC celebrates in special ways several times each year. Please check the Environmental Notes calendar to see announcements and events for the month.

Earth Day has been celebrated each year since 1970. Tennessee celebrated our planet in many different ways in many different parts of the State. For more information visit the international web site at EarthDay.net.
The Great American Cleanup takes place every year from mid-March to mid-May. Volunteers from more than 10,000 communities pick up litter, plant flowers, hold clothing drives, and clean up dump sites. For more information on how you can volunteer in your community please contact Keep America Beautiful.
