Tennessee does not
operate a certification program for radon testers and mitigators.
However, EPA set up a national radon proficiency program for radon
testers and mitigators. It is operated through the National
Environmental Health Association (NEHA)
and the National
Radon Safety Board (NRSB)
.
Be sure to check the type of certification the tester or mitigator holds to help ensure that person is appropriately credentialed to perform the job you need done. NEHA generally updates the lists of testers and mitigators on a weekly basis.
Consumer Tip
Even though someone may be on a list for Tennessee, that does not preclude certified testers and mitigators in other states from doing work in Tennessee. When searching for radon professionals in areas near state borders, consumers are advised to check surrounding states and cities. _____________________________________________________________________________________________For more information about the Tennessee Radon Program, please contact Amy Inabinet at 615-687-7071 or Kathy Glapa at 615-253-8780 or 1-800-232-1139 or by email at TDEC.Radon@state.tn.us
