For immediate release February 14, 2006 LET THE NEW TENNESSEE STATE PARKS WEB SITE HELP YOU PLAN YOUR NEXT GETAWAY Nashville, Tenn. – The Department of Environment and Conservation has redesigned the Web site for Tennessee State Parks to help visitors better find information about the wide variety of features and activities offered at 54 state parks located across Tennessee. The Web site was redesigned in-house by Department of Environment and Conservation staff at no outside cost to taxpayers. “Governor Bredesen has made our state parks a priority, and the new Web site better reflects the quality, accessibility and features of Tennessee’s nationally-recognized system of state parks,” said Environment and Conservation Commissioner Jim Fyke. Information about two winter discounts for Tennessee State Parks cabins and inns, which extend through March 31, 2006, are described at www.tnstateparks.com, along with information on what to do and where to stay at Tennessee State Parks, recent park news and online reservations. “Whether you enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, golfing or relaxing weekend getaways at our cabins or inns, there is a state park within an hour’s drive of any point in Tennessee,” Fyke said. “We hope our new Web site makes it easier than ever for people to explore the information available about Tennessee State Parks and to plan their next visit.” Plan your next visit to Tennessee State Parks at www.tnstateparks.com, or call 1-888-TN-PARKS (867-2757) for more information. ###
