Tennesee Green Star Partnership LogoThe Tennessee Green Star Partnership (TGSP) seeks to recognize businesses and organizations of all sizes and types that are strongly committed to sustainable practices throughout their entire operation. To become a member of TGSP, a business or organization must have a good compliance history and environmental improvement initiatives in such areas as energy use, water conservation, water quality and sustainable materials management. In addition, at the higher levels of advancement, environmentally preferred procurement, community outreach and mentoring of schools and other businesses are required. As of October 1, 2012, Tennessee Green Star Partnership replaces Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership, or TP3, as TDEC's pollution prevention recognition program and all of the current TP3 Partners and Performers have been grandfathered into the new program for the calendar year of 2013.

Governor's Environmental Stewardship AwardsThe Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards honor individuals, groups and organizations that help create the cleaner, healthier Tennessee we all want to see. The program has been in place for more than 25 years. Each year, the recipients demonstrate a model of environmental stewardship that makes Governor Bill Haslam excited about our desired future, and all past and future winners reflect the positive vision both the Governor and TDEC have for Tennessee. Winners for projects completed in 2012 will be announced soon.
