MULTI-SECTOR GENERAL PERMIT
FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES

Under authority of the Tennessee Water Quality Control Act of 1977 (T.C.A. 69-3-101 et seq.) and the delegation of authority from the United States Environmental Protection Agency under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended by the Clean Water Act of 1977 (33 U.S.C. 1251, et seq.) and the Water Quality Act of 1987, P.L. 100-4, except as provided in Part I.B.3. of this storm water multi-sector general permit, operators of point source discharges of storm water associated with industrial activity that discharge into waters of the State of Tennessee, represented by the industry sectors identified in Part 11 of this permit, are authorized to discharge storm water runoff associated with industrial activity in accordance with the following storm water pollution prevention plan requirements, effluent limitations, monitoring and reporting requirements and other provisions as set forth in Parts I through 11 herein, from the subject facility to waters of the State of Tennessee.
