PARTAS Online contains the Benchmarking Applications and Guidelines and a Planning Template for long range park plans for download and use. Benchmarking is due from May 30-Nov. 30 2007 for the 2008 grant cycle. The Planning Template is available to provide guidance for the long range planning required for the 2008 grant cycle.

Our Mission
The Recreation Educational Services Division’s mission is:
To create and protect parks and open spaces that provide recreation opportunities and
conservation education.
Recreation Educational Services is composed of four sections: Greenways and Trails, Grants Management Program, Recreation Planning, and Parks & Recreation Technical and Technical Assistance Service (PARTAS).
2008 Tennessee Greenways and Trails Plan
Preliminary Draft for Public Comment
There will be a 30 day Public Comment period for the preliminary draft of the 2008
Tennessee Greenways and Trails Plan from March 24, 2008 until April 22, 2008. The draft plan is an Action Plan that covers the three year period from Fiscal Year 2008-09 through Fiscal Year 2010-2011.

The introduction is an overview of Greenways and Trails and the remainder of the Plan discusses the action areas that will be the focus for Greenways and Trails for the next three
years. Appendix A gives definitions of Greenways and Trails and Appendix B provides 4 pages of Greenway and Trail Internet Resources.
