BIG SOUTH FORK RIVER WATERSHED

The Big South Fork River watershed includes parts of Anderson, Campbell, Fentress, Morgan, Pickett and Scott Counties and drains 983 square miles before emptying into Kentucky. Logging, abandoned coal mines and small farms are common. Boating, fishing, hiking, and hunting are popular outdoor activities, and the Big South Fork River and Recreation Area is a popular destination for hiking, camping and horseback riding.
