Cheatham Lake is the name for the impounded portion of the Cumberland River flowing through Cheatham, Davidson and Montgomery Counties. Completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1959, the dam and lock system of Cheatham Lake meet the needs of year-round navigation and hydropower.
