PIGEON RIVER WATERSHED

The Pigeon River flows through western Cocke County and drains 153 square miles before flowing into the French Broad River. The watershed contains part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Cherokee National Forest. Proximity to Knoxville, Tennessee and the river’s undeveloped landscape contribute to the Pigeon River’s popular appeal for boating and fishing.
