STONES RIVER WATERSHED

The Stones River watershed includes parts of Davidson, Rutherford and Wilson Counties and drains 921 square miles before emptying into the Cumberland River. Percy Priest Reservoir, created in 1967 when the Stones River was dammed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is popular for recreational boating and fishing. Land use in the watershed includes pasture, heavy industry and urban/suburban uses.
