Human Resource Office

The mission of the Finance and Administration Human Resource Office is “to provide effective and efficient Human Resource information and services.” In order to accomplish our mission, the Human Resource Office provides service and support to the divisions of Finance and Administration in two areas.

Transactions

The Transactions section of Human Resources is responsible for the delivery of three major service areas:

Personnel Transactions
Administration of all process impacting the staffing of the department. These processes include all new hire appointments, promotions, separations, salary adjustments, transfers, and classification of positions on the department staffing pattern.

Payroll Processing
Administration and coordination of the department payroll and leave and attendance system.

Insurance and Benefits Administration
Administration of all employee insurance and benefits transactions.

Organizational Development

Employee Development
Assessing organizational goals and individual development needs and
implementing and maintaining training and development programs to
meet those needs.  Employee Development also involves the
administration, maintenance, and assessment of the department
performance evaluation system to ensure that employee performance
is appropriately focused on the accomplishment of the department’s
major goals and objectives.

Employee Recognition
Coordinating programs to recognize and reinforce outstanding
employee service and performance.

Employee Relations
Interpreting and communicating personnel policies that encourage
appropriate employee workplace relationships, appropriate employee
behavior, and maximized employee performance.

Employee Services
Providing employees opportunities to participate in a variety of special
programs including charitable, civic and social activities.
