“The Means To Achieve Our Goals”

The mission and vision serve as guides to the future. The mission statement is a statement of “what we do.” The vision statement describes “what we want to become.” Both statements keep us focused as we strive to improve. Vision calls for action: long- and short-range plans to keep us moving toward the standard of excellence we have set. Finance and Administration ’s leadership developed the first departmental strategic plan in 1994.

The strategic plan is a long range action plan to accomplish our vision. The common definition of strategic planning is the establishment of shared, organization-wide business goals and objectives that can be communicated to every employee.
