Employee Recognition Programs

Introduction
The Employee Recognition Program was developed as a means to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and teams throughout the department. The program includes several elements such as departmental awards ceremonies, service awards, divisional recognition activities, peer-to-peer recognition, and newsletter recognition

Departmental Ceremony/Celebration
On an annual basis a departmental celebration takes place to recognize the successful completion of divisional and departmental goals. The ceremony and/or celebration, which varies in format each year, is organized by a team composed of representatives from each division, appointed by division management.

Divisional Recognition Activities
Beyond the departmental ceremony/celebration, supervisors are also encouraged to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of their employees throughout the year. Each division is free to determine its own form of recognition or token gifts to present for the service being recognized. Any money expended for divisional recognition must come from the division’s budget.

All Star Awards
The All Star Award is a person-to-person recognition tool and is an opportunity for supervisors, as well as fellow employees to provide immediate recognition without waiting for a “formal” ceremony or celebration. The All Star Award is given to a person who models the Finance and Administration principles and values and/or goes out of his/her way to ensure the success of a fellow employee.

All Star certificates should be given directly to the deserving employee. The stub has space to record the name of the giver, the recipient, and the date the certificate was given. The stub should be completed and sent to the Human Resource Office for future recognition. All Star certificate booklets are available at the Human Resource Office.
