SIXTH PERSON ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH ROANE CO. TENNCARE FRAUD CASE

ROCKWOOD MAN INDICTED ON TWO COUNTS OF TENNCARE FRAUD

NASHVILLE – A sixth individual has been arrested in connection with a TennCare fraud case that led to the arrest this week of five members of a Roane County family.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today charged 51-year-old Douglas Eugene Cagle of Rockwood with two counts of TennCare fraud. He is accused of unlawfully using the TennCare benefits of a nursing home patient to obtain prescription drugs, while concealing the fact that the patient was in a nursing home. It is the same indictment that brought 30-counts of fraud against Mildred Presswood, 52 of Rockwood. Her husband, 61-year-old Edward “Buddy” Presswood was also indicted along with three of their children: Lisa Renee, 24; Joey Allen, 29 and and Tina Louise, 32. Also arrested by the OIG this week in an unrelated TennCare fraud case in Roane County was Frances Jones.

If convicted, Cagle could be sentenced to up to two years in jail on each count. District Attorney General J. Scott McCluen is prosecuting.

Anyone can report suspected TennCare fraud by calling 1-800-433-3982 toll-free from anywhere in Tennessee, or log on to www.tennessee.gov/tenncare and follow the prompts that read “Report Fraud Now.”
