OPEN POSITIONS
Edison Application Developer
The Application Developer will provide programming and application support for a large ERP system (Peoplesoft) used statewide by Tennessee state government. The work will include modifications and enhancements to online, batch and reporting environments and maintaining interfaces with many different agency systems. It will also involve working with other information technology personnel as well as state functional users in determining and implementing the best solutions for the state’s business requirements.
The Application Developer will adapt to a challenging environment utilizing current tools from Oracle as well as other vendors on primarily web-based systems. This employment offers long term possibilities for skill development and career growth in many different areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop new online functionality using PeopleTools Application Designer.
- Modify delivered and develop new SQR and Application Engine programs for interface, conversion, reporting and other batch processing tasks.
- Use SQR, nVision, Crystal, XML Publisher and the Peoplesoft internal query tool to meet business reporting requirements.
- Work with other tools in the environment as needed in the areas of workflow, portal, module integration messaging and data warehouse analytical processing.
- Assist with technical troubleshooting in all areas including providing on-call support both during and after normal working hours.
- Assist with the design and documentation of technical specifications to provide solutions for new functional requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience: Candidates must have at least 3 years experience in an Oracle/PeopleSoft development environment or other application building environment with a heavy emphasis on SQL usage. Experience with a current object-oriented programming tool is a plus.
