- By standardizing state networks in terms of
technical and policy considerations, Tennessee Information Infrastructure (TNII) will foster an environment of healthy
communications cooperation in the public sector, taking advantage of the
technical innovations and cost savings promised by new competition in the
private sector. TNII capitalizes on existing assets to create an interoperable
“networks of networks” for all the state’s citizens.
TNII seeks to make Tennessee a national leader in the deployment of
telecommunications infrastructure, enabling state government to better provide
services to its citizens and preparing Tennessee’s communities to compete in the
knowledge-based economy.
- Primary Objectives to Serve the Customer:

- Maintain a network available to our customers 99.99% of the time
- Remove the barriers of technology - Universal pricing/universal equity of
access to all 95 counties
- Structure the network to provide enhanced services, H.323, VoIP, wireless
access, etc.
- Foster teamwork by planning the future of TNII at the table with our
customers
- Current and Targeted Projects:

- Improve TNII public relations both internally and externally
- Define and re-define TNII processes
- Test and implement IP telephony utilizing the TNII network
- Market the TNII network to local governments
