The Agency Development Group implements State Building Commission policy by directing the processes of building design and bid and construction administration. Our registered architects represent state agencies as "owners' representatives", contracting with private architects for design of facilities such as state park inns and cabins, mental health hospitals, prisons, veterans' nursing homes, and interstate welcome centers. In order to achieve building code compliance, we facilitate reviews with the State Fire Marshal's Office and with local authorities having jurisdiction. Public interest is protected by our review of official documents and drawings and by the competitiveness or our contract bidding process.
The coordination of capital development projects includes program and budget input, site evaluation, hazardous materials identification, communications/security systems, and interior design services. In addition, our capital maintenance projects provide essential upgrades to existing buildings in order to extend their economic lives. Our group works directly with twenty-five state agencies.
