Tennessee's State Records Center facility is secured with both fire and burglar alarm systems and is available for use by all State agencies. Currently, the facility capacity is approximately 104,000 cubic feet of records in various media formats. The driving force of the facility is its dedicated staff and an automated tracking system that provides instant records location and storage information. Some of the services provided by the center are:

Records Storage and Disposal
Herbert Hobson, Supervisor

Herbert.Hobson@tn.gov

The State Records Center provides a low-cost storage facility for inactive records and provides this service to all agencies. The Records Center will accept the transfer and storage of agency records if a related Records Disposition Authorization (RDA) has been approved.

The Records Center will dispose of agencies records once the established retention time for the records has expired and there are no pending legal actions or audits. Agencies will sign off on the disposal report before actual destruction takes place.

Records Retrieval
Herbert Hobson, Supervisor

Herbert.Hobson@tn.gov

Agency records stored at the Records Center may be retrieved by the agency records officer or designated agency personnel. Records can be retrieved from the Center within 24 business hours. In the event of an emergency, the records can be retrieved within the same day depending on the volume. Requests for retrievals submitted through the Foremost Records Manager website.
