The State Capitol Contract Station is operated by the Department of General Services, Division of State Postal Services. It has been in operation since 1972 and operates in accordance with all U.S.P.S. Rules and Regulations.

Services include the sale of money orders, postal stock, preparation of Foreign Mail, Express Mail, Priority Mail, and Numbered Articles ( Registered, Certified and Insured)

Services not available at this station are passports, scanning for Priority Mail Delivery Confirmation, and payment by credit/debit card.

All personal transactions conducted at the counter must be paid by cash or check. However, state business mail requiring special preparation or customs forms, may be prepared at this station and charged to the appropriate state account. Once prepared, the item is forwarded to the Central Mailroom for the application of postage.

All items requiring handling through this station may be given to a State Postal carrier, with the exception of Express and Registered Mail. Due to the value and/or guarantees for these items, hand delivery to the window clerk is required.

Pick-Ups of Outgoing Mail (collection) is provided by the U.S. Postal Services at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday
