The William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower Building was originally built in 1970 as the National Life Center, home of National Life and Accident Insurance Company. The building was acquired by the State of Tennessee on January 3, 1994 from American General Life and Accident Insurance Company. Over 1000 state employees now work in the building, consolidating numerous previously scattered worksites into one central location in the heart of downtown Nashville.
