When requesting a solicitation, please refer to the solicitation number and bid opening date provided.

Competitive bids are welcome from all bidders; however, no award can be made to any vendor who is not active on the qualified bid register with the State of Tennessee. If you are not a registered vendor, you must submit a Bidder's Application form for approval as a prospective bidder to the Department of General Services, Purchasing Division. The information submitted on the application will determine the eligibility to bid based upon the size of business, the types of materials, supplies and equipment the vendor desires to furnish and the geographic area in which the vendor proposes to deliver.

Telegraph bids and/or electronic mail (facsimile) bids are not acceptable for formal sealed bids. Bids must be submitted in the proper manner as described in each solicitation. Bids must be received in the issuing agency's office on or before the date and time designated for the bid opening as specified in the solicitation document, or the bid will be rejected. By submission of the solicitation, the bidder agrees to strictly abide by all the Statutes and Terms contained in the Rules of the Department of General Services, Purchasing Division, in addition to the special terms, conditions and specifications embodied in each solicitation.

We recommend before you submit a solicitation, you review the Solicitation Check List to ensure the bid is complete and will not be rejected. We also suggest you review the Standard Terms and Conditions which appear on all State of Tennessee solicitations to ensure your understanding of expectations of bidders.

The Department of General Services Purchasing Division does not handle the procurement of contract services (personal and professional), capitol projects, or building construction projects over $100,000.00. The contact information for these types of procurements are listed below:
