Child Support Guidelines

Welcome to the Income Shares Tutorial Page!

On this page are links to information that helps to explain the procedures for calculating child support obligations under the Tennessee’s Child Support Guidelines.  The Guidelines are based on an Income Shares model that establishes the dollar amount of child support obligations based on the amount of parents’ combined adjusted gross income and the number of children for whom the child support order is being established or modified.

The most recent changes to the Tennessee Child Support Guidelines were effective July 22, 2008.  The links provided on this page will direct you to the current Child Support Guidelines and to automated child support calculators and other useful information.

The free, automated calculators provided on our “Downloads” page simplify and dramatically decrease the time it takes to determine Tennessee child support orders.  Click HERE to go to our "Downloads" page.  A newly redesigned Automated Web-Style Calculator was made available effective August 1, 2014

IMPORTANT:  Please visit the Downloads page regularly to check for updates to the calculators.  Using an outdated automated Calculator or Excel Child Support Worksheet may give incorrect results.
